Summer slowly ended with a warm September, and autumn approached with vibrant colors and gathering darkness, like a cold blanket that will last a long time.
I volunteered to help with lighting assistance and electrical work on an upcoming short film. Good film lighting is essential for quality moviemaking and might be one of the most underestimated yet important roles on a film set. Creating cinematic lighting is a unique skill and art that every director of photography and gaffer should master. Assisting the lighting department is heavy, physical work, and I got a good workout in the few days I was helping on set. I really enjoyed being part of the production.
