9 Days in Visby

August 10

Summer is usually calm and peaceful, and it's supposed to be that special time of year when you take it easy and rest. I recently came back from a long holiday in Sweden. During my stay, I did anything but rest and found myself with the camera as usual.

At the beginning of August, I visited Visby and the Medieval Week festival again. My assignment was to capture the special moments and atmosphere of the festival and, of course, try to enjoy the little moments myself meanwhile. My camera of choice is a Blackmagic Cinema Pocket 4K, paired with a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens. Even though the camera is pretty lightweight, all the small additional attachments make the rig extremely heavy to carry around. To ease some of the weight, I used a V-lock battery attached to my belt, with wiring to the camera.
The work itself was volunteer, every day for a week straight. I collaborated with many different artists, such as Circus Ignis, TRiX, Insomnia - Infinite Moves, Gyckel, and many more. I feel happy and grateful for this amazing experience. I believe creative artists should always help each other out, as the market is difficult and oversaturated as it is.

The pictures were taken by Linn & Love, as I was too busy filming.
